Managing Your Meetings

BigBlueButton (BBB) is the phenomenal open source meeting platform behind Nexus virtual meetings. BBB is optimized for online learning and is integrated into most leading open source online learning platforms. It is used by many different organizations, including major universities and the US Department of Defense.

When you join a Nexus virtual meeting a new browser tab will open and launch a BigBlueButton meeting session. It looks something like the picture at the bottom of this article, personalized with the name of your own team. It does not require any software downloads and is compatible with any major internet browser and/or internet-enabled device.

Video Tutorial Library

The BigBlueButton community has created several excellent YouTube video tutorials covering all the essential features for viewing, presenting and moderating a BBB session.

We highly recommend new users of Nexus spend approximately 30 minutes viewing the videos covering these topics:

  • Camera and microphone sharing
  • User management
  • Presentation controls, polls, breakout rooms
  • Recording
  • Shared notes
  • Closed captions
  • Shared videos
